Grassroots Program

SWCC Grassroots Soccer Program (Starting 2026)

With the 2026 Outdoor Season just around the corner, we’re excited to share important updates for the upcoming season, along with our Calendar at a Glance

The 2026 season marks an exciting new chapter in youth soccer. In alignment with Canada Soccer and Manitoba Soccer Association, a new Grassroots Programming model is being introduced for U9 and U10 players. This approach is all about creating a positive, fun, and supportive environment where kids can learn, grow, and simply enjoy playing soccer.

What is Grassroots Soccer?

Grassroots soccer is designed with kids in mind. It focuses on:

  • Having fun and staying active

  • Learning skills through play

  • Building confidence and friendships

There are no standings or pressure to win—just a safe, encouraging space where every child can enjoy the game.

What Your Child Will Experience

We’ve built this program to make soccer enjoyable for both players and families:

  • More time with the ball: Smaller games mean more action and involvement

  • Everyone plays: Fair playing time for all participants

  • Supportive coaching: Coaches who encourage, teach, and celebrate effort

  • Less time driving: More local play, making it easier for busy families

  • No tryouts or cuts: Every child is included and supported
